Take the trip of a lifetime. Camp with Grizzly Bears in Katmai & Lake Clark
- Join us on an incredible experience. Come see Grizzly Bears, Wolves, Eagles, Fox, Glaciers, and active Volcanoes

Our expert guides strive to provide a unique and unforgettable camping trip. We keep our clients safe with over 30 years of passed down experience. Grizzly Bears are Incredibly smart animals, we keep you safe through the use of bear psychology and body language. We also carry deterrents as a last resort. But as the lead guide, approaching a decade of experience, we‘ve never had an unsafe situation. A bear or client has never been harmed. The bears are wild, they’re not habituated, just indifferent. They have learned generationally that we’re not a threat, just another animal in their environment. Because they have such easy access to food such as sedge, clams, and salmon, they would never risk burning the calories they need for winter to chase down large game. Come with us on a trip to learn more.
At Alaskan Grizzly Bear Camping, we are passionate about guiding and providing an amazing experience. We provide high-quality products and fully outfit our clients with top of the line gear. Our gear is designed to withstand the toughest conditions and make your camping experience comfortable and memorable. From tents and sleeping bags, to charging stations and backpacks. We fully outfit you and consider the smallest details. Book with us today and have a once in a lifetime experience.
Camping at our remote locations you‘ll see amazing and unique things!
Nowhere else in the world can you do this safely. This is the untainted relationship between bears and humans. As naturalist guides we are careful not to harm that relationship or change their behavior.
Just like us, sometimes bears get an itch they just cant reach 😂 This bear directly approached us. Being a smaller female our presence made her feel safe. Large males that could be dangerous to her tend to avoid our group. Since we stay close together, we look like one large entity, which discourages the big males from approaching. Grizzly Bears are very intelligent and they learn these behaviors from mama bear and years of survival.
We eat dry food for safety. Cooking creates hazards with mess and cleaning. The dehydrated food is comparable to a Mountain House, but much better. Let us know your food preferences via email and we will accommodate. The picture above is just an example, we will provide the best camp food possible.
You must provide your own personal clothing. You have to wear clothes that are designed for the elements. The weather can change fast in these locations, be ready for rain. We provide waders to cross creeks and kneel in wet areas. Absolutely No Jeans allowed. Denim is the worst material for bad weather.
Don’t forget your camera! It’s helpful to bring different lenses, but most of my videos and pictures are shot on my iPhone. Sometimes we get very close, but it’s up to the bears. We always stand our ground because pray retreats. The experienced professional guides will always be between you and the bear. Safety is our top priority.

One night camping trip, two days with the Bears. This is our most remote location. As the lead guide, this is personally my favorite spot. It has a glacier and volcano backdrop, and this is typically where I see the biggest bears. Both Katmai and Lake Clark National Park are absolutely stunning locations.
